Course Aim:

Providing the local professionals with a structured frame starting fromre freshing the basic sewage treatment concepts, looking into the practical and hand-on experiences on sewage and sludge treatment works planning, design, project implementation, operation and maintenance.

Ir Yu is a chartered mechanical, marine, electrical, building services, and environmental engineer and has more than 30 years hands-on experience in the design, supervision of construction, testing, commissioning, research and development work, operation and maintenance of municipal sewage treatment plants and systems.

Course Structure:

Lecture 1: Sewage Treatment Fundamentals
Lecture 2: Biological Sewage Treatment Process I
Lecture 3: Biological Sewage Treatment Process II
Lecture 4: Compact Sewage Treatment Processes and the Operating Experience in Shatin Sewage Treatment Works with Case Study
Lecture 5: Design of Mechanical Agitator for MBBR Process, Disinfection and Water Reclamation Technologies, Maintenance of Sewage Treatment Facilities 
Lecture 6: Sewage Sludge Treatment and Co-Digestion
Lecture 7: Achieving Energy Neutral Sewage Treatment with end of course examination
